Why Child Poverty?

Every Child Counts
We have a lot of fun in order to raise money to end child poverty, but it's no laughing matter. Every child is filled with potential – to do good, be great, and give back to their communities. But for children in poverty, the odds are stacked against them.
Child Poverty in America
In America nearly 20% of children live in families with an income below the federal poverty threshold*, and nearly twice that number live in homes that struggle to put food on the table**.

Child Poverty Around the World
Globally, 1 billion children are deprived of one or more basic needs like food, shelter, safe drinking water, sanitation, healthcare or education.
Nearly 1 in 2 people
living on $1.90 or less around the world are 18 years old or younger.

Children Can't Wait
We support programs that address the immediate needs of children in poverty while fostering transformative, structural change that can last a lifetime.
A World Of Difference
Studies show that when we invest in children, we’re not only changing the lives of individuals. We’re creating positive change in our communities, in our society and even in the economy at large.
There’s More To Do
The issues of child poverty are complex and can’t be solved by any one group or action, but children are strong and resilient. With some help, they can become empowered, healthy, productive agents of change in their own life. When you fundraise for Red Nose Day, you're changing lives.
